JamJews Beginner Guitar Course

To help Jews of all ages find an easier entry point to Jewish life and deepen Jewish identity, JamJews worked with the Auerbach Foundation to create this one-of-a-kind Jewish guitar curriculum. Our guitar curriculum is the first comprehensive course that approaches learning to play the instrument using Jewish music with the intention of playing in and with Jewish communities. We hope that this curriculum is educational, accessible, and fun for you. The course teaches fundamentals necessary to play guitar using a repertoire of the most popular Jewish music, drawing from contemporary and traditional Jewish artists and community builders. Our goal is to create a clear path that helps as many Jewish students as possible find their way from first hearing Jewish music, to picking up the guitar with the intent of singing with their community, and preparing the next generation of Jewish songleaders. Our course uses transliteration of Hebrew text to teach songs, meaning that our course is accessible students with any level of Hebrew knowledge.
